NOMINEE OF THE LIEBSTER AWARD

Hi there! How have you been?
I have good news…*drumroll*
I was nominated for the Liebster Award! Meerah of http://www.diaryofmeerah.wordpress.com nominated me. Thanks a lot, dear!

Well, the Liebster Award is a fun way of recognising and promoting up and coming blogs of good standard having which have less than 200 followers.
The rules of the Liebster Award are pretty simple. All you have to do is:
• Thank the blogger who nominated you.
• Display the Liebster Badge on your site.
• Answer the questions you were sent.
• Choose 5 (to 11) blogs to nominate.
•Send 10 questions for your nominees to answer.

I gratefully accept the award.

So, the questions I have to answer are the same ones Meerah answered, since she decided they were nice. Here are the questions, and my answers.

? What inspired the start of your blog?
= Well, I love to write, and I love having people read what I write, (I think every writer does) though I used to be shy at first. If there’s one thing that scares me to my bones, it is dying unfulfilled, and I only get fulfilment when I write, (and speak). I’m also very scared of failing, and as I wrote in one of my posts, The Other Side Of Fear, fear hindered me from doing a lot. I finally realised that if I never face my fears, they’ll continue to torment me. After a lot of turmoil within me, and after postponing this for so long, I decided to just take the plunge. I took the first step the day a friend who tells me he has “zero writing skills” sent me a link to his blog. I was shocked, and I thought, “If someone who considers himself to have zero writing skills could boldly open a blog (on writing, not tech or entertainment), then what’s holding me back?”
(Yikes, that was long. Sorry.)

? Got any pet peeves?
= Um, yes. I hate it when people chew loudly, sniffle constantly, and NEVER cover their mouth when they yawn.

? Do you consider yourself an extrovert or an introvert?
= Introvert, though I’m beginning to open up to people more as I grow.

? If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
= I would remove the bags under my eyes, because it makes people always ask me if I’ve not had enough sleep.
I would also take away the awkwardness I have around people I’m not really familiar with.

? How would you describe your personal style?
= Mainly tomboyish, though age and my sewing machine are making me explore new horizons.

? What’s your favourite time of the day and why?
= Midnight. It’s the only time my brothers are not shouting down the whole house.
And also, that time of the morning when everyone has gone to work and I’m home alone.

? Do you ever get ‘writer’s block’, and, if so, how do you deal with it?
= Yes I do. I discovered that I mostly get writer’s block when I don’t know much about what I want to write, so I do my research well before writing. And as for the writings that don’t seem to require much research but are still slow in coming to me, I just let them be for a while, but I keep rereading them till I get it.

? What would be the first thing you’d do if you won the lottery?
= Shriek and jump up and down!

? With the money?
= Pay my tithe, dash my parents huge sums, dash my siblings too, give part of it as alms ( to homes, but mostly to beggars and displaced people on the roads), then put the rest in the bank.

? Which talent don’t you have but want?
= Playing the piano or guitar. (Opportunities to learn have presented themselves, but I’ve been lazy.)

? What inspires new ideas for your blog?
= People, society, everyday occurrences and my experiences.

? Three words that best describe you?
= Shy, Old-fashioned, Misunderstood.

I nominate:
Sinmiloluwa Makinde of https://thepenworkshop.wordpress.com

esedavid of https://esedavid.wordpress.com

Seye Maj of https://glorysounds.wordpress.com

Skatsz of https://skatsz.wordpresss.com

Jasmine Manasseh of https://jasminemanasseh.wordpress.com

Barnabas of https://barnajay.blogspot.com

Well, I would like my nominees to answer the same questions I did because I would love to know them even more, and because I would not want to give them too much stress, seeing as it took me some time to come up with all my answers.

I would appreciate it if you accept the award.
Once again, thanks to Meerah for nominating me.
Thanks for reading!

  1. Hi Eniola,

The inscription on your blog header cracked me up- “Short , black Nigerian girl” 😀

Congratulations on your award, I enjoyed reading your witty responses.

I used to be pretty shy until I realised that people were the same as me, we all breathe- eat- and-poop. That simple.

I’m glad you that you’ve learned to face your fears, once we overcome our fears, we start living without boundaries, self-imposed or otherwise.
